The combination of Çalkarası, one of the characteristic grapes of the Aegean Region, and Shiraz, a highly recognized international variety, forms the basic structure of this dry red wine. Çalkarası is a local grape variety, typically grown in the Denizli region, known for its thin skin and balanced acidity. The vibrancy this grape contributes to the wine, combined with the full-bodied and spice-note-prone structure of Shiraz grapes, creates a balanced profile. The dry character, achieved by fully fermenting the natural sugars of the grapes during the production process, leaves no sugary sensation on the palate during consumption.
Production and characteristic features
With its 1-liter volume, Ritüel Kırmızı is designed for sharing at the table and is prepared using a technique that highlights dark fruit profiles. The color intensity, obtained from the pigments in the grape skins during the maceration process, reflects the intense tannin structure of the Shiraz grape. The Çalkarası grape, on the other hand, adds a more fluid and vibrant form to this structure, softening the drinking experience. The 13% alcohol content is maintained at a level that preserves the wine's overall balance without overshadowing the aromatic depth of the grapes.
Label and serving information
The term 'sek' (dry) indicated on the product label signifies that the residual sugar content is at a minimum level. When serving Ritüel Kırmızı, presenting it slightly below room temperature, at approximately 16-18 degrees Celsius, helps to perceive the aromatic components of the grape character more clearly. The large-volume bottle design provides a structure that balances the wine's contact with air. This type of red wine technically pairs well with various food groups such as protein-based dishes, pastries, and hard cheeses. For storage, cool environments with stable temperatures, away from direct sunlight, should be preferred.
